Roland's Professional A/V division announced today the M-5000C Live Mixing Console. The M-5000C is the newest addition to the growing line of O.H.R.C.A.-based consoles from Roland, a line Roland describes as providing "powerful features at an affordable price point." Measuring under 30 inches (74 cm) in width and weighing 70 lbs (32 kg), the compact M-5000C retains the core signal path and many other features of the flagship M-5000, which Roland says makes it "ideal for theaters, portable churches, OB trucks/vans, touring or any application demanding power and flexibility in a small footprint."

The trio mines the tension between musical forms, but recording that push-and-pull so that it maintains an organic truth isn't a simple process—and that's captured in the short documentary, Battles: The Art of Repetition.
"Your biggest comparison is trying to make the live show sound as good as the record, but what's gratifying about the live performance is that you have an immediate response from the people and performers."-Tom Young, FOH Engineer, Tony Bennett/Lady Gaga
