CBS' Richard Hottelet Passes Away (CBS) Radio and TV reporter Richard Hottelet passed away Wednesday at 97. He got his start with Edward R. Murrow's CBS radio news team during World War II, often reporting from the action on the front or in the air. He spent his whole broadcast reporting career with CBS, retiring in 1985. Afterward he made occasional broadcast appearances and was a semi-regular commentator for NPR.
