Why This Matters: It's the "among other cool things" that matter to us. This article gives a good rundown on NFC—something Apple hasn't supported up until now because they were using Apple Passbook to do some of the transactional things that NFC does. However NFC is—as we know—so much more. This change would make Apple iPhones even more relevant as BYOD devices and for interaction with digital signage and other NFC-driven AV communications.
