#1 Why Apple's Next iPhone Will Be Bigger Than People Think
It's a big year for the iPhone, literally. At a choreographed coming-out party on Sept. 9, the entire tech world expects Apple to show off a device with a 4.7-inch screen, and possibly one with a 5.5-inch screen. (CNBC)
Why This Is Important: A variety of factors, including a larger than usual upgrade-eligible pool and pent-up demand for a larger iPhone screen, could make this year one of Apple's most spectacular.

#2 RadioShack Said To Discuss Rescue Deal With Shareholder
RadioShack Corp. is talking with shareholder Standard General LP about getting a rescue financing package that could help the retailer stave off a bankruptcy filing, two people with knowledge of the matter said. Standard General, a hedge fund that's also orchestrating a lifeline for American Apparel Inc., is seeking to bolster RadioShack's cash by issuing debt or equity. (Bloomberg)
Why This Is Important: RadioShack's stock has lost almost 75% of its value this year. A cash infusion could allow the chain to shutter more underperforming stores and help slow the bleeding.

#3 Nobody Is Buying Amazon's Fire Phone
Amazon's Fire Phone does not appear to be on fire. According to an estimate by Charles Arthur, technology editor at The Guardian, the world's largest online retailer sold fewer than 35,000 of its new smartphones in the first 20 days it was on the market. (The Huffington Post)
Why This Is Important: Tepid reviews, a high price, and a small variety of apps are quickly turning the Fire into a disaster for Amazon as the company continues to hemorrhage money.

"RadioShack is suffering death by 1,000 cuts. If Best Buy's top line is hurting, particularly in the mobile business, that portends incredibly poorly for RadioShack." -- Anthony Chukumba, analyst, BB&T Capital Markets
