Today's Top 3 Stories
#1 Consumer Survey: Sprint = Biggest Loser
Sprint is scraping the bottom of the barrel among US carriers in terms of overall satisfaction. The results come from Consumer Reports, which polled more than 58,000 subscribers about their opinions. Sprint received poor marks all around, with consumers dinging its value, voice and text quality, and 4G reliability. Sprint ranked second last year. (InformationWeek)
Why This Is Important:  Verizon took the lead for customer satisfaction, with AT&T and T-Mobile following behind.

#2 Bosses May Use Social Media To Discriminate Against Job Seekers
Many companies regularly look up job applicants online as part of the hiring process. A new study suggests they may also use what they find to discriminate. (WSJ)
Why This Is Important:  It's already common knowledge that employers use social media as a  means to vet applicants and check for drug use and other untoward behaviors, but now it seems some applicants don't even stand a chance when it comes to things out of their control, like their race.

#3 Why It Makes Sense For Businesses To Threaten Online Critics
Add another page to the fast-growing chronicle of shady ways for companies to try bullying customers who post unflattering reviews on the Internet. This time the unlucky critic was Jen Palmer, who told a CBS affiliate in Salt Lake City that she received a bill for $3,500 from Kleargear.com, a company that sells office tchotchkes.  (Businessweek)
Why This Is Important:  Garnering a reputation as a company that damages its customers' credit reports over unflattering comments is not a tactic that will draw in new ones.
