#1 A Shortage of Marketers in the U.S.
There's a shortage of marketing specialists in the U.S., according to a new report from LinkedIn that says there are unfilled job postings seeking people with marketing skills in the 20 largest metro areas, the Washington Post reported. An excess of marketing professionals can be found in markets including Miami, Las Vegas, Orange County, Calif., and Saginaw, Mich.
WHY THIS MATTERS: If you know how to do social media or create email campaigns, someone, somewhere is probably looking to hire you.
A Take: Washington Post

#2 Adidas Halts Facebook Ads Over Measurement Issues
Adidas has stopped buying video ads on Facebook and might cut its spending on the social platform because of concerns its spending there is wasted because Facebook users aren't viewing its ads, according to Digiday. Facebook is checking Facebook's viewership numbers with data from Moat. Some advertisers have found that only 22% of their ads are viewed when they play.
WHY THIS MATTERS: A CMO Council study found that 62% of senior marketers said bad metrics have compelled them to pull back on spending on Facebook, so this concern could slow the social platforms ad growth.

#3 Kling Resigns from Fallon to Move to New York
The award-winning chief creative officer left the Minneapolis agency where he's worked since 2012 to return to New York and tackle the wilds of Madison Avenue, according to Adweek. "If I don't leap now, I'll miss my chance," he said in a memo to Fallon's staff.
WHY THIS MATTERS: In a business where valuable assets walk out the door every day, agencies have to be prepared for the departure of talented leaders. In this case Fallon has declined to discuss succession plans.
A Take: Adweek
