This year NewBay's Government Video Expo and National Drone Show provided attendees with the latest news and information on the technologies and services that make up the ever evolving sector. Thousands of professionals from education, military and related government and non-profit sectors streamed through the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in late November to learn about the latest developments in video production as well as the emerging fields of virtual reality, artificial intelligence and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Now in it's 21st year, the GV Expo prides itself on providing a comprehensive overview of what's new in this market, giving attendees the "up close and personal" interaction with exhibitors and government officials that they can't get anywhere else. A special focus this year was on virtual reality and military video production, sometimes related with each other, sometimes not. Officials from the Defense Media Activity discussed the importance of keeping up to date on communications technology in the age of social media and on-demand media.
