WHY THIS MATTERS:The U.S. market must first wean itself of expensive, and largely unwanted, sports programming, Discovery Communications CEO David Zaslav said on the programmer's first-quarter earnings call, noting that sports-free skinny bundles are prevalent elsewhere, and Discovery networks are on most of them.
