Our consumption of higher definition video across IP networks continues to grow exponentially, whether due to new broadcast modalities, new "broadcast yourself" trends, or increasing prevalence of UHD/4K channels. Video encoding and transportation represents a challenge because of high bandwidth requirements, and latency is an issue for live streaming. The H.265/HEVC codec can help, potentially saving half the transmission network bandwidth but at a cost of processing complexity that renders software-only implementations uneconomic for wide-scale deployment. Scalable real-time video processing can be achieved by leveraging hardware acceleration technology. This webinar examines some of the latest video encoding and processing architectures and solutions that can be implemented using commercial off-the-shelf IT-based components to address performance, power and space challenges confronting the media industry in a cost-efficient manner.
