Hit Films Shown at Sound Reel Showcase Sound Teams to Introduce Sound Clips at Inaugural Event Sponsored by Formosa Group The first-ever Sound Reel Showcase will take place in the evening at Mix Presents Sound for Film, to be held September 17 at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, Calif. Sponsored by Formosa Group and held in the Dolby Atmos-equipped William Holden Theatre, the Sound Reel Showcase will feature a dozen 8-minute reels from films released this year, highlighting the sound efforts from some of the best crews in Hollywood. “The Academy bake off was a great event because in addition to getting to hear the work of the best in our industry, it was a gathering place for our sound community,” says Matt Dubin, senior vice president of Formosa Group. “I have observed a similar community spirit at the Sound for Film events the past two years and I am excited that Mix and Sony have agreed to take the next step in supporting a Sound Reel Showcase.
