Univision, Fusion Set to 'RiseUp' at Mini-Conference
Univision Communications and its millennial-targeted Fusion Media Group have agreed to combine forces to present RiseUP AS ONE, a two-day mini-convention of sorts on Oct. 14-15, just three weeks before the end of the 2016 presidential campaign. The event, billed as a celebration of Hispanic arts and culture, will culminate with a nationally televised concert. More»

KMEX Renames News Studio for Trailblazer Ruben Salazar
Univision–owned KMEX in Los Angeles on Aug. 29 renamed its news studio in honor of the pioneering journalist who died in 1970. The onetime Los Angeles Times reporter was the first Mexican-American journalist from a non-Hispanic newspaper to cover the region's Chicano community. More »

Movers & Shakers
· Univision has promoted Patsy Loris to executive vice president of news and executive news director from senior VP, news. She will lead the programming efforts for all of Univision's network news shows, including the evening, late-night and weekend editions of Noticiero Univision; newsmagazines Primer Impacto, Aquí y Ahora and Crónicas de Sábado; and Sunday-morning political show Al Punto. Executive producers for each program will now report directly to Loris; she will continue to report to Univision News president Daniel Coronell.

· Fernando Gaston has joined NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises as NBC Universo's vice president of production and development. He comes from Viacom International Media Networks, where he was senior VP, content for MTV/VH1/Comedy Central Latin America. At NBC Universo, he reports to senior VP of programming and production Bilai Joa Silar.

· Ray Warren was named to the new post of president of Telemundo Deportes, the sports programming arm of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. He will be responsible for developing opportunities for both existing franchises and future acquisitions, with a keen focus on the FIFA World Cup. Formerly executive VP and chief revenue officer of NBC Sports Regional Networks, he will be based in Miami and report to NBCU Telemundo Enterprises chairman Cesar Conde. The media industry veteran has also served as president of Carat Media Group Americas, managing director of OMD USA and president and CEO of Raycom Sports.

· Angel Domenech has been upped to vice president of creative strategy at Telemundo. He joined the network in 2007, most recently serving as senior creative director of digital marketing.
