Sound Mixer Roger Pietschmann, 1945-2016
The Cinema Audio Society on August 10 announced the passing of Roger Jay Pietschmann, who died peacefully at home on July 26 in Los Angeles with his family at his side after a six-year battle with multiple symptom atrophy (MSA), according to the CAS. Pietschmann was the third generation of family employed in the motion picture industry.

AES Announces New Membership Benefits Plan
Audio Engineering Society members now have full access to the AES E-Library as a membership benefit. As of September 1, 2016, annual dues for AES Members/Associate Members will be $125. Annual dues for AES Student Members will be $50. New members can sign up, and existing members can renew, at the current rates for the month of August.

Penn State's WPSU Broadcasts With Calrec Audio's Summa
PBS affiliate WPSU at Penn State University has gone live with a new Calrec Audio Summa digital mixing console. WPSU went live in late May with the new Summa, which is linked into the network's five studio spaces and serves as the core mixing console for the full live production lineup.
