Judge Dismisses Redstone Suit After just one day of testimony – dominated by the expletive-laden video deposition of former Viacom chairman Sumner Redstone – California Superior Court Judge David Cowan has tentatively dismissed the mental competency lawsuit against the media mogul. more WHY THIS MATTERS: The dismissal brings resolution to the suit filed last November by Manuela Herzer, Redstone's former girlfriend and caregiver, and removes one obstacle from the Redstone family's succession plan for Viacom.
