Movers & Shakers
Eric Ratchman has joined Univision as executive vice president of content distribution. Ratchman most recently served as senior VP of global distribution strategy and business development for Disney Media Networks and played an instrumental role in negotiating Disney's first over-the-top carriage deal with SlingTV. He reports to Univision chief commercial officer and president of content distribution Tonia O'Connor.

Mara Arakelian has been appointed senior vice president of talent management at Telemundo. She will lead a unified talent strategy across all divisions of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, comprised of the Telemundo network, Telemundo Studios, cable channel NBC Universo and Telemundo's digital platforms. Arkaelian joins Telemundo from Mexico-based Bobo Producciones, where she held the position of Management Director. She succeeds Mario Ruiz, who was recently named Telemundo's senior VP of music and entertainment. Arakelian will be based in Miami and Mexico and reports to Telemundo president Luis Silberwasser.

Daniel Coronell has been promoted to president of Univision's news department. He had held the title of executive VP and executive director of news since 2014. He first joined the Univision News team in early 2011 as VP and news director. Prior to Univision, Coronell spent several years in Colombia, as director of Noticias Uno, a national newscast airing on Colombia's Canal Uno television network, and as a director of national newscasts for RCN TV.

Chris Peña has been named senior vice president of local media television news at Univision. Previously a senior executive producer at MSNBC, Peña will oversee Univision's efforts in working with network and local news operations, implement editorial guidelines for local newscasts and develop Univision O&O station news directors.

Lourdes Torres has been upped to senior VP of political coverage and special projects at Univision. The network veteran previously held the title of VP of regional news and director of special projects. Torres joined the company in the mid-1980s, when it was still known as Spanish International Network (SIN).
