Starz Launches OTT Subscription App Starz has become the latest premium network to go over-the-top with the launch of a standalone subscription video service. more WHY THIS MATTERS: Primarily targeted to broadband-only U.S. households, the $8.99 per month service will debut as an app on iOS and Android tablets and smartphones and Apple TV devices, as well as via Web browsers, with an initial library of more than 2,400 on-demand titles, including episodes of original series and feature films. #AdvancedAd 2016: Addressable Advertising Still a Local Play Addressable TV advertising has been a hit at the local level, but don't hold your breath to see these techniques go big on the national stage anytime soon. more WHY THIS MATTERS: The issue is that the technology to enable addressable TV advertising is owned by the operators, while national inventory is owned by the national networks, MODI Media president Michael Bologna said at Tuesday's Advanced Advertising and Measurement Summit, adding that national addressable TV advertising is still five to seven years away.
