Alchemy Post Sound Applies Foley to 'The Bandit' Film
Alchemy Post Sound in Peekskill, New York, provided Foley services for The Bandit, director Jesse Moss' documentary about Burt Reynolds, the late director and stuntman Hal Needham, and the making of the iconic 1977 action-comedy Smokey and the Bandit. Working under the direction of Supervising Sound Editor/Re-Recording Mixer Tom Paul, Foley Artist Leslie Bloome and his crew re-created the sounds of brawling stuntmen, a rocket-propelled car and 100-foot body falls to accompany the film's stunts and action scenes.

Plugin Alliance in Santa Cruz, Calif., announces All Bundle Version 4.1 ($4,359 MSRP), which adds Brainworx bx_panEQ, SPL EQ Ranger Plus and Acme Audio Opticom XLA-3. All Bundle now comprises 66 plug-ins from 15 manufacturers in AAX Native, Audio Units, VST2 and VST3 formats. Forty-four of the 66 plug-ins support the AAX DSP format, and all included plug-ins run on Mac OS 10.6 through 10.11 and Windows 64-bit 7 or 8.
Apogee ONE for Mac Audio Interface
Apogee Electronics in Santa Monica introduces its ONE for Mac ($249), a 2x2 USB audio interface in a die cast aluminum chassis with a built-in omnidirectional condenser microphone. It connects to a Mac via USB 2 with 24-bit/96kHz A/D/A conversion and works with iOS (iPhone and iPad connection kit sold separately).

The CL/QL Version 4 firmware update will be available for download from the Yamaha Pro Audio Website by the end of April. Yamaha Pro Audio and Shure Incorporated jointly announce that customers using Yamaha CL and QL Series consoles will be able to control and monitor Shure ULX-D Digital Wireless Systems (Dante enabled ULX-D4D Dual Channel Digital Wireless Receivers and ULX-D4Q Quad Channel Digital Wireless Receivers).
Soundcraft by Harman Vi2000 Digital Audio Console
Soundcraft by Harman unveiled the Vi2000 digital live console (price TBA) at Prolight + Sound 2016, designed for the live touring, install and corporate A/V markets. The Vi2000 combines the Vistonics-based control surface of the Vi3000, Vi5000 and Vi7000 consoles with Soundcraft SpiderCore, an integrated DSP and I/O engine based on Studer by Harman technology.
Amadeus PMX D Series Speakers
Amadeus, based in France, announces the launch of its PMX D Series self-powered active speakers. The new speaker design features built-in 24-bit/96kHz DSP, and analog, AES3 and Dante inputs. With three different models, containing 8, 12 or 15-inch coaxial drivers, the PMX D Series is adapted to sound reinforcement applications in concert halls, auditoriums, conference rooms and theaters.
Antelope Audio LiveClock Master Clock
At Musikmesse 2016 in Hall 9.1, Booth D33, Antelope Audio launched LiveClock ($995), a single-rackspace master clock based on Antelope's 4th generation Acoustically Focused Clocking (AFC) technology that is designed for use in any live sound application. The new clock fits into a dog house on the FOH console, and takes up 1U space with additional rack ears.
QSC E Series Range of Passive Loudspeakers
At this year's Pro Light + Sound in Frankfurt, Germany (Hall 4.0, Stand F71), QSC announces that it is now shipping its E Series range of passive loudspeakers are now shipping. The new E Series is designed for sound reinforcement in entertainment applications, such as live performance, DJ and dance music, karaoke and stage monitoring and production.
