Kovalick is an active speaker, educator and author in media technology. He has presented over 50 papers at industry conferences worldwide. He holds 13 US patents. He is the author of the book Video Systems in an IT Environment. Kovalick has a BSEE degree from San Jose State University and MSEE degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a SMPTE Fellow and recipient of the David Sarnoff Medal. He writes the Cloudspotter's Journal for TV Technology.
 Alex Grossman - Vice President, Media and Entertainment, Quantum
Alex Grossman is a 20+ year veteran of the storage industry and is currently Quantum's vice president of media and entertainment. Previously he was Founder and President of Active Storage a developer of media and Apple-centric workflow storage solutions. Before founding Active Storage, Grossman was an Apple executive in the Worldwide Product Marketing group. He was responsible for driving the development, marketing and management of Apple's server and storage products. Prior to joining Apple, Grossman was vice president of Sales, Marketing, and New Product Development at MicroNet Technology, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of storage solutions for creative professionals and IT managers. Grossman has contributed to several patents associated with media management and storage technology and led the team that developed the first FireWire-based Storage Area Network.
 Dave Frederick - Senior Director, Product Marketing for StorNext Solutions, Quantum
For the last 30 years, Dave Frederick has focused on leveraging technology to improve media production and delivery. Since joining Quantum in 2014, he has been working to bring the benefits of multi-tiered, high-performance shared storage to use cases ranging from entertainment, corporate video, imaging, video surveillance and more. Frederick's approach: Infrastructure is important, but it must never come between the user and their applications.
