WHY THIS MATTERS:The research from law firm Dykema Gossett finds more dealmakers concerned about the market than in the past number of years, with fewer than half the respondents saying they have a positive outlook for the overall U.S. economy over the next 12 months, the lowest level since 2012.
OpenTV, Nagra Sue Verizon
The Kudelski Group said its OpenTV and Nagra France SAS subsidiaries have filed a patent infringement suit against Verizon Communications and its AOL division over claims that they are infringing on a batch of U.S. patents tied to streaming video services. more
WHY THIS MATTERS:The suit alleges that Verizon and AOL are infringing seven patents owned by the Kudelski subsidiaries, and identify products including FiOS TV and its authenticated TV Everywhere services.
Reports: Discovery Weighs Channel 4 Bid

WHY THIS MATTERS:Acquiring a broadcaster has been on the cable programmer's radar -- it had considered bidding on the U.K.'s Channel 5 last year but dropped out of the bidding when the price got too high -- and free-to-air channels have become increasingly important to the content giant, especially since it purchased European sports network Eurosport.
