Immersive Sound Subtrack at Mix Presents Sound for Film
Dolby, DTS, Auro, AID and DSpatial to Showcase New Technologies, Workflows

Mix magazine, in conjunction with host sponsor Sony Pictures Studios and event partners MPSE and CAS, has announced the program details for its Immersive Sound subtrack at the one-day conference and exhibition, "Sound for Film: The Art of Sound Design: Music, Effects and Dialog," to be held September 26 on the Sony Pictures Entertainment lot in Culver City, Calif.

Held in the William Holden Theatre on the Sony Pictures Studios lot, next door to the main editorial panels on sound design, the Immersive Sound subtrack is a continuation of programming started at the inaugural Mix Presents Sound for Film event in 2014.

"Immersive Sound is a hot topic in film sound, both theatrically and headed into homes," says Tom Kenny, editor of Mix. " We had great success last year, with a huge interest from attendees, that we wanted to make sure that we stayed on top of this emerging technology. With the help of sponsors like Dolby, DTS, Auro, AID, DSpatial, Avid, Yamaha, JBL and Meyer Sound, we have nearly full representation from all the major players. Everybody benefits."
