The New York-based startup is coming off raising $635,189 from a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign that closed this month for its upcoming product, Here Active Listening, which are earbuds designed to customize sound around you. Through a smartphone app that talks to the earbuds via Bluetooth, users can move volume up or down, fiddle with the EQ or add effects. If the user is in a busy cafe, for example, they could tune down the chatter of voices in the background. With Here earbuds, audience members could tailor characteristics of how live performances in real time, such as turning up the bass or adding reverb.
