Today's Top Stories
#1 Rhema coaches public speakers via Google Glass
  By Ben Coxworth, Gizmag
Rhema lets public speakers know how they're doing, in real time. Many people absolutely hate public speaking, in part because they think that they simply aren't good enough at doing it. Well, that's why Rhema was created. Developed at the University of Rochester and named after the Greek word for "utterance," it delivers real-time performance feedback to the speaker via their Google Glass headset. Here's how the system works. More»
Why This Matters: Here's one more thing for our feedback obsession that I think I would use. Whether you are a public speaker or building a system for someone who is, this is worth a look. It gives simple real time feedback about whether you are speaking too fast or too softly, something that is difficult to self-gauge in the heat of battle. -Cynthia Wisehart

#2 A review of Android for Work: dual-persona support comes to Android
  By Ron Amadeo, Ars Technica
Google aims for the enterprise with separate work and home data on a single device. More»
Why This Matters: You know the gig: carry two phones or have no privacy. Many problems either way. Being able to smoothly and securely segregate a single device makes lots of sense. This Google idea still has plenty of potential holes. But, even so, it seems like an improvement to the spectacularly insecure reality of how most people, even Secretaries of State, operate. Truth be told, what passes for security is often just a lot of inconvenience and lost productivity for nothing. In AV we already understand the whole profile/permissions thing because most of our customers can't afford to have two mix desks. So this is moving in the right direction and may even work for you now. -Cynthia Wisehart

#3 Starin debuts AV-over-IP online workshops
  Via SVC Online
Starin is presenting a series of AVmeetUP Web-Workshops with Phil Hippensteel, Professor of Information Technology at Penn State University. Each of the on-line sessions will focus on different aspects of AVoverIP Network Considerations. The series will continue until May 15th. More»
Why This Matters: We can vouch for Phil and attendees will receive CTS RUs. -Cynthia Wisehart
