On Monday, the rapper was flanked on stage by more than a dozen fellow equity owners, including Beyoncé, Kanye West and Madonna, at a media event for the relaunch of the high-resolution music service Tidal. More» Why This Matters: Do I believe there will be anything special about the technology? No, but it doesn't matter. As for the brand, I'm sure the target demographic won't be reminded of laundry. Most people will just think you said "Title" and you'll have to spell it, assuming you're doing anything so old-fashioned as speaking (good luck with Siri). What does seem important is the business model. Tidal is not just a streaming service, it's a label; artists own the brand and the pipes (no laundry pun intended).
