Venice - Studio ISO ingest and highlighting system

Venice makes selecting and playing highlights from multiple incoming feeds to air fast and straightforward.
Easy to learn, easy to use interface works with most of your favorite 3rd party control panels
The Venice software is designed for the demanding studio control room environment. It provides agile rapid highlight selection, playlist editing and live playout control. In developing the software, Rohde & Schwarz consulted extensively with broadcasters and their on-air operators to ensure that the software meets the rigorous needs of todays live productions, resulting in a simple interface which can work with most external controllers. Operators can use a mix of dedicated and user-programmable buttons, responsive jog wheels and high-precision T-bars - the choice is theirs.
While on air, editors can simultaneously mark interest points, punch in and out, group play with live speed control and add to/modify playlists. The Venice interface makes it all simple and fast.
Scalable and flexible
Venice has been built with total flexibility in mind. Venice scales from two to hundreds of bi-directional channels which can be used for recording ingest, playout and transcoding operations and can be controlled via purpose built software applications or a multitude of 3rd party control panels. Venice network management, record, playout and transcode operations can be managed from our Spycer technology eliminating the need to move or copy files in multi-channel operations. Venice is resilient and reliable and is quickly configured to support small and large production needs.
For greater flexibility Venice is 100% compatible with the Spycerbox family of storage systems from Rohde & Schwarz - each Venice has access to any clips in the Spyverbox eco-system and can quickly take them to air. Venice can also make use of Spycerbox modules to allow for native support of Linux, Window and Mac clients and also allows proxies for users to build comprehensive and sophisticated workflows.

Three-way editor integration
Venice supports integrated editing - with no delays due to media movement and without the cost of duplicating recordings into edit storage.
Editors have instant access to live recordings, any selected highlights and even complete playlists which they can build into sophisticated sequences. Completed edits can be added to the Venice playlist and taken to air as soon as they are ready.
With a built-in StorNext file system, any 3rd party editing system can mount the Venice storage natively and with Venice's completely open architecture and codec support, there is never a need to transcode anything. Making this system the simple, flexible and open solution for small and large studio operations.
