Swing House Studios Relocates
To mark its 20th year in business, Swing House Studios will be relocating from West Hollywood to a 21,000-square-foot facility in the Atwater neighborhood. The new location will be situated between Downtown L.A., Silver Lake, Glendale and Burbank off the 2 and 5 freeways. The grand reopening of the studio is scheduled for late January 2015.

Dave Maswick Acquires First Millennia HV-35P
Millennia Media began shipping its Portable Preamp Series during the second week of December 2014, and reports that the first unit found its way to engineer/producer/songwriter/musician Dave Maswick.

At Winter NAMM in Anaheim (January 22-25), UK-based reference monitor manufacturer PMC will launch its twotwo sub2 active subwoofer, a new addition to its twotwo range of active near-field monitors, in Hall A, booth #6598. The new sub2 is a low-distortion, active subwoofer featuring PMC's ATL bass-loading technology, Class-D amplification and DSP-based filtering and bass management, which extends bass output significantly with negligible harmonic distortion.

Ocean Way Audio Sausalito High-Resolution Reference Loudspeaker System
At CES 2015 in Las Vegas (January 6-9), Ocean Way Audio (Venetian Tower Suite 29-334) is introducing its Sausalito reference loudspeaker system ($35,000 MSRP), designed by Allen Sides, the Grammy Award-winning engineer/producer and founder of Ocean Way Recording. After having received positive responses to their larger speaker systems, the team at Ocean Way Audio was asked for a design to fit smaller spaces yet still deliver full-range accurate reproduction. With that in mind they developed Sausalito, the newest member of the company's high-bandwidth speaker systems. Each cabinet is 42x16.5x 22.75 inches (HxWxD) and weighs 148 pounds.

Shure MOTIV Digital Product Line, iOS Recording App
Shure introduces MOTIV digital products, a new plug-and-play microphone line designed for vocal/acoustic recording, podcasts, YouTube videos, field recording and more at 24-bit/48 kHz. MOTIV products include four new Apple MFi (made for iPhone, iPod, iPad) Certified devices, including three condenser microphones and a digital audio interface that can connect directly to any iOS device without additional adapters or connection kits. The MOTIV line features the MOTIV MV5 digital condenser microphone, MOTIV MV88 iOS digital stereo condenser microphone, MOTIV MV51 digital large-diaphragm condenser microphone, MOTIV MVi digital audio interface, and the company's newest iOS app, ShurePlus MOTIV mobile recording app.

The Drum Leveler from Sound Radix ($149) is a beat detection-based downward and upward compressor/expander, which selectively applies gain to single drumbeats. Unlike traditional envelope-followers and VCAs, Drum Leveler runs an advanced algorithm that allows unparalleled control over your drums' dynamics. The NAMM Show, held in in the Anaheim Convention Center, is one of the world's largest global music industry trade events annually attracting 96,000 members of the music industry to Anaheim. One component of NAMM's Educational Sessions, the H.O.T. (Hands-On Training) Zone provides live educational sessions and innovative ideas for professionals in the pro audio, recording, live sound, DJ, entertainment technologies, music business, and stage and lighting industries. It takes place on Level 2 of the Anaheim Convention Center.
