NBC Resets With New Tech for Super Bowl XLIX NBC will put its broadcast sports prowess to the test on Feb. 1 when it covers Super Bowl XLIX. It will do so with a new slate of production trucks, 4K cameras and graphics technology, all from companies exhibiting at the 2015 NAB Show. TV Technology» Immersive Sound: Mark Richer on ATSC 3.0 Audio ATSC President Mark Richer provided an overview of the developing standard in an interview with TV Technology's Deborah McAdams. The ATSC Technology Pavilion, which features technologies related to new and emerging ATSC standards, will be on the NAB Show exhibit floor again this year. TV Technology» Exhibitor Viewpoint — Belar CEO Mark Grant on radio technology trends: "Last year… the time-alignment issue in HD Radio transmission was a hot-button topic. This is the year to bring solutions to the table that solve those problems. Belar will announce some new software developments in its modulation monitors to address this… " Radio World» Editors Find Big Things in an Inexpensive Package Sony Creative Software introduced Vegas Pro v13 at the 2014 NAB Show. Editing columnist Jay Ankeney plans to make his way to the Central Hall in April to find out what new ideas SCS has come up with for the next version. TV Technology» Avid Announces Pro Tools | First Delivering on Avid Everywhere and built upon the Avid MediaCentral Platform, Avid has unveiled Pro Tools | First, a free version of Pro Tools that offers many of the same music creation capabilities. Radio Magazine» Portland Community Media Upgrades With JVC for Field Production The government and public access provider for Portland, Ore., has purchased 22 JVC GY-HM600 and nine GY-HM850 ProHD camcorders to support local programming production for its six channels. JVC will showcase its latest offerings in booth C4314. Government Video» Small Wonders: Reviewing Portable Video Recorders With options such as 4K, eight-channel audio I/O and timecode generation, these devices have gone far beyond simple record/playback. See what these video recorders can do by visiting these exhibitors on the show floor. TV Technology» Tieline Introduces New Firmware The new firmware for Merlin and Genie codecs supports sending multiple full-duplex intercom streams to a single device or to six separate devices at different remote sites. Tieline will be on the exhibit floor to unveil its newest products. Radio World» Gaslamp Lights Up with SSL Gaslamp Studios, which offers remote mixing services for artists and producers, has based its new mix room in San Diego around an SSL AWS 948 console.
