#1 Monster Sues Apple Unit Over Headphone Deal 
  Audio-equipment maker Monster LLC and its chief executive sued Apple Inc. 's Beats Electronics LLC, its co-founders Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, and Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corp. for allegedly conspiring to dupe Monster out of a deal with Beats before the company was sold to Apple for $3.2 billion last year. Why This Is Important: Lawsuits in the headphones industry are exceedingly common, and the No. 1 seller has certainly not been immune (see Bose v. Beats last fall). Monster claims share shenanigans occurred regarding Beats and HTC, allowing Apple's new golden child to end its relationship with Monster.
