Stuart Graham Now Flies Solo (August) His broadcast technical consultancy works with AM and FM broadcasters on channel allocations and applications for the FCC  "anything you want to get to the FCC and approved, including LPFM, translators, Method of Moments proofs and traditional proofs of AM directional antenna arrays."
Antoine Builds on a Sound Education (August) The radio engineer, now with Westwood One, talked about his unusual start in the biz: "In my mid-teens I took a summer job at a cultural center called The East I was able to hang out and work there and learn audio engineering putting microphones in front of people like Max Roach, Betty Carter, Freddie Hubbard, Pharaoh Sanders, Sun Ra & his Orchestra, and other top-name jazz greats."
"Digital Radio Is the Best Game in Town" (September) Erica Farber spoke at the fall Radio Show. "New technology has allowed our listeners to fall even more deeply in love with radio. Now they can text or tweet or follow or 'like' their favorite stations, or personalities. They email, they comment, they interact. This is not just dating anymore, people. This is marriage."
Matheny to Set Tech Course for NAB (September) It was his first interview with a radio trade publication since joining NAB, and it ranged widely, including discussion of AM in dashboard receivers. "We're not really sure what issues specifically BMW is having, but it's certainly something that other [carmakers] have been able to overcome."
I Remember Bob Schroeder (November) Paul McLane remembers his late friend, who always signed off with a nod to SBE chapter dinners past: "Viva la chicken Maryland!"
