DiGiCo, Allen & Heath, Calrec Announce Formation of a New Pro Audio Group
DiGiCo announces that after consulting with Electra Partners over the past 18 months, it has combined with two other British console manufacturers, Allen & Heath and Calrec, to create a new professional audio group. Within the group, each company will retain its particular skills, customer relationships and brand identities. James Gordon will become Group CEO supported by managers from across the new group.

Elbow In North America
UK pop-rock band Elbow—Guy Garvey (vocals), Mark Potter (guitar), Pete Turner (bass), Craig Potter (keyboards) and Richard Jupp (drums)—played 12 dates in North American clubs in spring 2014, sandwiched in between arena concerts in the UK (including London's O2 Arena) and festivals in Russia and Europe. The band embarked on their first U.S. tour since 2011 to promote their 2014 release, The Take Off and Landing of Everything, the band's sixth.

Clair Bros. Audio Systems Announces Clair Solutions
Clair Bros. Audio Systems Inc. in Manheim, Penn., announces a new trade name and logo for its audio, video and lighting (AVL) integration division. Effective immediately, the trade name Clair Solutions will serve as the company's sole representation in the AVL integration industry.
 
Cher's Dressed To Kill Tour Includes Three DiGiCo SD7 Consoles
Cher recently completed the first North American leg of her Dressed to Kill (D2K) tour, which is scheduled to resume in Albany, NY in mid-September and run through early November, encompassing a grand total of 74 shows. Journey, Steve Miller Band Tour with Meyer Sound LEO, LYON
Meyer Sound reports that rock legends Journey and the Steve Miller Band are touring North America this summer with the Meyer Sound LEO family of products, including the compact LYON linear line array loudspeakers that the company launched this year. The equipment choice for the 40-city tour was driven in large part by Journey's FOH engineer, Jim Yakabuski.
 
Suffolk Theater in New York Installs Renkus-Heinz Sound System
After a lengthy renovation project, the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead, New York, recently reopened as a multi-use, state-of-the-art dinner theater with flexible seating, digital projection, and a surround sound system featuring Renkus-Heinz PNX and TRX Series loudspeakers.

VUE Audiotechnik AL-4-SB
The new al-4-sb Flyable Isobaric Subwoofer ($2,995) from VUE Audiotechnik features rigging options for suspension above or behind al-4 line arrays in a variety of configurations. VUE also offers a flyable end-fire grid that allows quick assembly of sophisticated al-4-sb end fire arrays for improved directionality and reduced low-frequency energy onstage. The al-4-sb is equally adept in portable applications. Integrated rigging allows quick assembly of ground-stacked arrays, while a 20mm socket accommodates up to four al-4 acoustic elements on a pole with the optional U-bracket. At the heart of the al-4-sb are two precision-engineered, long-excursion 15-inch transducers that feature neodymium magnets and large 4-inch (100mm) diameter voice coils for high power handling and reduced power compression.
