Christina Perri: Head or Heart 2014 Tour
Christina Perri, on the road in support of her second studio album, Head or Heart, stopped by the famed Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco in early June. The big show is carrying relatively light production, with FOH and monitor consoles, along with snake and mics. "For this tour I am mixing on an Avid SC48," says production manager/FOH engineer Adam Jackson, who has been with Perri since her 2011 debut.

AES Announces Free Exhibition Registration, Special Hotel Packages for 137th AES Convention in Los Angeles
Registration is now open to attend the AES137 Convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center, October 9-12, 2014, located in the revitalized L.A. Live entertainment district. Two badge packages are available: the Exhibits-Plus Badge (free) and the All Access Badge. Starlight Relies on Meyer Sound LEO Systems for Heavy Metal Festivals
Supporting heavy metal festivals STHLM Fields and Sonisphere not only took tremendous sonic power, but also an intelligently designed loudspeaker rigging system built for mission-critical circumstances. For the festivals' headliners Metallica, Slayer, and Mastodon, Swedish production company Starlight built a massive Meyer Sound LEO linear large-scale sound reinforcement system with close to 200 loudspeakers.
 
Amadeus, Solid State Logic, Sonic Emotion Collaborate on 'Palais en Jazz' Live Music Event
Amadeus, based in France, a premiere manufacturer of high-end sound reinforcement systems and custom studio speakers, collaborated with Solid State Logic consoles and Sonic Emotion with its 3-D sound Wave 1 processor on an outdoor event called Palais en Jazz. The event was held on June 28 and 29 at the Imperial Palace Compiègne, a royal residence built for Louis XV and restored by Napoleon located in northern France.
 
Montreal Jazz Festival Includes Yamaha Digital Consoles
From June 26 to July 5 at venues across Montreal, the annual Montreal Jazz Festival featured musical guests including Earth, Wind & Fire, B.B. King, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Terence Blanchard, and Nikki Yanofsky. Solotech of Montreal provided the majority of the audio production for the 30 stages and stacked them with Yamaha digital audio consoles. Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems pitched in for five of the stages…
 
Denver's Arvada Center for the Arts Receives VUE al-8 Upgrade
Space Recording Live Sound has been the exclusive audio provider for Denver's Swallow Hill Music for more than 15 years. This year the company's collaboration has grown to include full production duties at Denver's popular Arvada Center for the Arts.

Adamson Systems E219 Subwoofer
Adamson's E219 subwoofer ($TBA) is the latest addition the Energia family of products comprising the E15, E12 and E218. The E219 is loaded with two lightweight long-excursion 19-inch SD19 Kevlar Neodymium drivers using Adamson's Advanced Cone Architecture. The drivers employ dual 5-inch voice coils for exceptional power handling, and are mounted in an ultra-efficient front-loaded enclosure, designed to reproduce clean, musical LF information. The lightweight E219 (249 pounds) is designed to be used as a stand-alone low-frequency component in the Energia system, but can also be combined with the E218 cabinet for larger events. The E219 is specified for use and packaged with the Lab.gruppen PLM 20000Q amplifier. Four E219 cabinets can be run from a single amp.
