#1 BlackBerry Acquires Secusmart, Ups Voice Security Ante
BlackBerry said Tuesday that it will acquire Secusmart, a German mobile security company. The purchase highlights how BlackBerry is doubling down on the enterprise as well as mobile security. (ZDNet)
Why This Is Important: BlackBerry knows its best bet is to forgo the consumer market in favor of the security-minded enterprise sector. Being mindful of the BYOD movement, its Enterprise Server will be compatible with Android, iPhones and Windows smartphones.

#2 Amazon Stays The Course As Its Stock Tanks
The train hurtles down the track, the engineer oblivious to the vanished bridge the villain just dynamited to smithereens. For some investors, that train is Amazon and the engineer is CEO Jeff Bezos, who is throwing every kind of fuel he can imagine into the firebox to keep his locomotive moving: A phone. Drones. Self-produced shows. And now made-to-order 3-D printed items, and possibly a credit card reader. (Wired)
Why This Is Important: Is Amazon making deep investments, or is it simply throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks? Analysts are uncertain and investors are getting uneasy.

#3 Apple Bumps MacBook Pro Processors Across The Line
Been holding out for the latest update to the MacBook Pro line? Hold out no longer: Apple on Tuesday issued a small speed bump to its professional notebook line, bringing new processors to the laptops. (Macworld)
Why This Is Important: The improvements made were incremental ones, and Apple is expected to do another refresh when Intel's next-gen processors are available next year.
