New Orleans Jazz Fest, Fitz & The Tantrums On Tour

Until Thursday, June 5, NewBay Media is accepting submissions for the first annual Best of Show Awards, honoring outstanding products exhibited at the InfoComm Show. Awards will be given by NewBay Media publications Sound & Video Contractor, AV Technology, Digital Signage, ProSound News, ProAudio Review, Mix, Music Festival Business, and Government Video magazines. The program recognizes outstanding products exhibited at the InfoComm Show that are new since the prior InfoComm Show. Winners are selected by panels of professional users and editors based on descriptions provided by you via the nomination form as well as on judges' inspection at the convention. You may submit a product for consideration by one or more of these publications, and you may submit multiple products. More

Broadway Sound Master Classes
The Broadway Sound Master Classes (BSMC) is a three-day event bringing Broadway's top audio professionals together to discuss the creative, technical, and practical challenges involved in creating sound for Broadway. The event includes a ticket to Bullets Over Broadway, 8-10 sessions, continental breakfasts, lunches, and a networking reception.

Legendary sound designer Abe Jacob (A Chorus Line, Evita, Rain: A Tribute To The Beatles) serves as the creative consultant. The BMC takes place Wednesday, June 4, through Friday, June 6, as part of the weeklong Live Design Broadway Master Classes (lighting, sound, and projection). New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival 2014 Photo Gallery
The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, now in its 45th year, took place over two weekends in late-April, early May at the city's Fair Grounds Race Course, with concert sets on multiple stages. Photographer Dave Vann attended the first weekend of Jazz Fest this year and documented music at the fairgrounds, as well as many of the late night shows, for Mix. Here are his exclusive photos. Tour Profile: Fitz & The Tantrums
Beginning with select spring concerts and TV appearances, Fitz & the Tantrums are ramping up to take their upbeat soul/synth pop show on a summer tour of theaters, sheds and festivals, including Bonnaroo, Governor's Ball and Lollapalooza. In April, the band played the Fox Theatre (Oakland, Calif.) before heading to Napa's intimate Live in the Vineyard series, and then a sold-out show at the Palladium in their hometown of L.A.

Harman Professional Opens New Technology Center
Harman Professional announces the opening of its Technology Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The 50,000-square-foot facility employs 165 and houses the company's Signal Processing Business Unit Professional Systems Development and Integration Group, responsible for the development of HiQnet networking software, Corporate Technology Group, and the Harman Professional Training Center. The facility is located at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains in the high-tech South Jordan RiverPark area of Salt Lake City.

Avid VENUE Version 4.5 Software for S3L
VENUE 4.5, which the company says is coming soon, will let users easily share I/O between multiple networked systems, with advanced gain management and more. It also offers support for 64-bit Pro Tools AAX plug-ins. User-definable fader banks allow users to customize the surface for a particular workflow. Plus, new EuControl V. 3.2 software, also said to be coming soon, will let users set up a mobile EUCON recording/mixing studio with the S3 and a laptop.

One Systems To Exhibit 118IM-SUB at InfoComm
One Systems in Nashville announces the U.S. debut of the all-weather 118IM-Sub at InfoComm, in booth #C12108. It joins One Systems' line of copolymer based all-weather loudspeakers, and the company says the 118IM-Sub will be available in late August 2014.

CEntrance Mini-M8
CEntrance will release its new Mini-M8 ('Mini Mate') portable DAC. The new product is a slimmer version of the company's HiFi-M8, and has several enhancements including compatibility with in-ear monitors (IEM).

Harman's Studer Vista 1 Version 5.1 Upgrade
The Version 5.1 upgrade adds Lexicon effects processing to the Vista 1 digital broadcast console.
