#1 Softbank Makes Case For Sprint/T-Mobile Merger
Sprint Corp. Chairman Masayoshi Son pointed to recent telecom and cable mergers as a reason to allow his company to buy rival T-Mobile US Inc., saying access to the Internet is currently dominated by three giants with no sizable competitor. (Wall Street Journal)
Why This Is Important:  No. 3 wireless carrier Sprint and No. 4 T-Mobile are losing money and well behind Verizon and AT&T in the size of their subscriber base. A merger would deliver the scale to improve wireless competition, Sprint contended, though opponents argued it would reduce competition.

Specifically, Oppenheimer shared that the company will add an addition 30 retail stores this year while remodeling 20 existing stores; more than half of this expansion would take place outside of the United States. Why This Is Important: Apple solidified its commitment to retail stores with the recent addition of Angela Ahrendts at its helm.
