Mark Lazarus Chairman, NBC Sports Group Mark Lazarus was named Chairman, NBC Sports Group in May 2011 and oversees the NBC Sports Group portfolio consisting of NBC Sports & Olympics, Golf Channel, NBCSN, 12 NBC Sports Regional Networks, NBC Sports Radio and NBC Sports Group Digital. Lazarus manages partnerships with many of the most prestigious properties in sports, including the IOC and the U.S. Olympic Committee, the NFL, NHL, PGA Tour, PGA of America, Premier League, Notre Dame, Churchill Downs, MLS and many more. Lazarus was integral in NBCUniversal's acquisition of media rights for the 2014-2020 Olympic Games and subsequently the following six Olympic Games from 2022-2032; its 10-year landmark agreement with NASCAR starting in 2015, its nine-year NFL agreement and its 10-year agreement with the NHL. Under Lazarus' leadership, Sunday Night Football was the most-watched and highest-rated primetime show for the third season in a row, Super Bowl XLVI between the Giants and the Patriots in 2012 became the most-watched program in U.S. history at the time; and the 2012 London Olympic Games with 217 million viewers became the most-watched television event in history. Prior to being named Chairman, Lazarus was President of NBC Sports Cable Group, having previously served as President for CSE and led the agency's sports and entertainment media and marketing divisions. Before that, Lazarus was President of Turner Entertainment Group overseeing the Turner Entertainment Networks including Turner Sports, TBS, TNT, TCM and truTV as well as Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang. He was President of Turner Sports from 1999 to 2003. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Lazarus serves on the board of governors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the board of directors for the East Lake Foundation and Compass Diversified Holdings. |
