In this role, he is primarily focused on go-to-market strategy and field sales support for enterprise customers.
Mr. Gerrity has over 25 years experience in international and U.S. sales, business development and marketing of storage and data communications networks to Global 1000 clients. Previously, he was Director, Enterprise Storage and Alliances at ADVA Optical Networking and held various marketing, product management and sales positions at Computer Network Technology Corporation (CNT).
Mr. Gerrity holds a B.A. in business management and marketing from Central Connecticut State University and has been published in multiple leading publications covering the enterprise storage networking industry.

John Hawkins Ciena John joined Ciena in 2009 where he now serves as a Sr. Advisor for Technical Marketing for Carrier Ethernet where he works to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Ciena's Packet Networking portfolio. His day to day work involves consulting with customers, industry analysts, standards organizations and partners to articulate the value proposition of Ciena solutions.
Previously, John was responsible for Carrier Ethernet product management at Nortel/BNR where he worked on a variety of product families including the innovative Provider Backbone Transport technology and the Optical Ethernet product portfolio. He began his career at GE as a hardware designer, and later product manager in the Aerospace Division.
John holds degrees from North Carolina State, Southern Methodist, and Duke Universities.
