Livonia, MI (February 7, 2014)—Accompanied by the sound company Thunder Audio, Dolly Parton recently embarked on her current tour, the 'Blue Smoke world tour,' which will take her through the U.S., New Zealand, Australia and Europe between now and July.
by Clive Young We've written a lot of posts on the PSN Blog, but the most popular one ever, hands down, was from 2011: "The 'Freebird' of Pro Audio" looked at how every FOH engineer on the planet seems to use either Steely Dan or its singer Donald Fagan's solo track, "I.G.Y." to tune a PA. Heck, it was so popular that it was even quoted in the Wikipedia entry for the album "I.G.Y." is from, The Nightfly. After the post, in the comments section, reader Sam Bryant joked, "What does the FOH guy for Steely Dan listen to when they are tweaking their system?" As it turns out, we found out the answer.
"Most recording guitarists that I know don't care what they play through, as long as it sounds good and fits the track. That's why it's not a matter of either/or guitar amps or plug-ins; it's both. You've got to learn to embrace the strengths of each and utilize them to your advantage. I can't get the sound of my old BR6 from a plug-in, but that BR6 won't sound like a cranked-up ENGL E765 plug-in. They both rock in their own way." —Rich Tozzoli.
