He joined Telemundo last March from Univision Communications, where he was VP, client development and ad sales. Prior to Univision, he had been senior VP, advertising sales and new business development, Cablevision/Madison Square Garden/Fuse. • Victor Olaniel has been appointed general sales manager for América CV Network, taking on sales oversight for its América TeVe and Teveo stations in Miami, New York and Puerto Rico. Olaniel is a veteran of Hispanic radio sales, and most recently served as general sales manager of Clear Channel's WMGE-FM "Mega 94.9" in Miami. Concurrently, Estrella Zayas-Bazán has been named local sales manager for Teveo flagship WJAN in Miami. She previously handled local sales for Univision's Miami stations and was VP of sales at WGEN, Miami's MundoFox affiliate. América CV Network VP of sales Herb Espino, local sales manager Humberto Hormaza and national sales manager Francisco Framil remain in their respective roles. • Julissa Bermudez and José Sarduy have signed on as co-hosts for NUVOtv's third season of Stand Up and Deliver, which has set up shop in the Baja California resort city of Cabo San Lucas. The 10-episode third season, filmed during the inaugural Cabo Comedy Festival, will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET from Jan. 28 through April 1. Featured acts include Carlos Alazraqui, Joe DeRosa and Gina Brillon. • Jamie Camil and Zuria Vega have been cast as protagonists in Televisa's remake of Colombian telenovela Qué Ricos Tan Pobres. It debuted Nov. 11 in Mexico on Televisa's Canal de las Estrellas and Jan. 6 in the U.S. on Univision, where it airs at 10 p.m. The plot focuses on snobby socialites who lose their fortune and move in with a working-class family, and the life lessons learned from the experience. • Cuba-born comedian and entertainer Alexis Valdés, best-known for his role as host of Mega TV's primetime variety program Esta Noche 2 Night from 2008 until the end of January 2013, has released a memoir that "unites memories, naughty observations, televised monologues, love stories and secrets from the world of television." The Spanish-language book, Con todo mi humor, Alexis Valdés, is published by Santillana imprint Aguilar and available across the U.S. • José Diaz-Balart, the anchor of Telemundo's Noticiero Telemundo, and Lino Garcia, general manager of ESPN Deportes, have been added to the keynote speaker lineup for Feb. 4's 2014 Multicultural TV Summit & Leadership Awards at New York's Grand Hyatt.
