#1 Would Amazon Prime be worth $119 a year?
  During the company's fourth-quarter earnings call Thursday, Amazon announced that it might have to raise the annual membership by as much as $40 from its current $79. (Marketwatch)
Why This Is Important: If people are willing to pay the increase, Amazon will have to go out and buy a bigger safe to stash all its cash. If it doesn't work they are shooting one of its biggest cash cows.

#2 Nadella to be named Microsoft CEO; Gates out, too, report says
  Microsoft's cloud chief, Satya Nadella, will lead the company as its next chief executive, according to a report from Bloomberg. (ComputerWorld)
Why This Is Important: Nadella is clearly capable, having overseen the  transformation of  Windows Live Search into Bing, but critics say he has no experience actually leading.

  Walmart lowered its profit expectations for the latest quarter, citing cuts to food stamps and an especially tough winter. (NY Times)
Why This Is Important: It is not a good sign when a retailer is banking on food stamp income to meet its financial targets.
