"In some of the key scenes the cameras would be on the stars for their takes and then would be turned around to cover the other side of the scene," explains "Lone Survivor" editor Colby Parker Jr. "It was always an issue of matching the energy."
"It's highly entertaining," Schoonmaker says of Martin Scorsese's new film. "Every day I'd get these fantastically funny scenes in dailies. It's more of an improvisational film like "Raging Bull," "Casino" or "Goodfellas." We haven't done one of those in awhile and I enjoyed getting back to that form."
There have been concert movies and there have been apocalyptic feature films, but rarely if ever have both genres been featured in the same production. Until now.
Coinciding with the release of his "Magna Carta Holy Grai"l album, Jay Z performed the track "Picasso Baby" live for six hours at Pace Gallery in Chelsea in June. Directed by Mark Romanek, "Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film," captures the experience.
