Manuel Martinez has been named president of Telemundo Stations, gaining oversight of Telemundo's 16 owned-and-operated TV channels in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. He reports to NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations president Valari Staab. Martinez's resume includes a four-year stint as president/GM of Telemundo O&O WSCV in Miami and as head of the Telemundo Station Group Digital Unit. He has also been VP/GM of WNJU in New York and most recently served as president/GM of NBC O&O WTVJ in Miami.

Vincent Cordero has been appointed to the newly created chief operating officer role at HBO Latin America. He reports to CEO Gaston Comas. Cordero was most recently executive VP and GM of Fox Deportes, where a search for his successor is set to begin.

Nicolas J. Valls has taken the role of executive VP of advertising sales for WAPA-TV and WAPA América parent Hemisphere Media Group. Valls will oversee national spot sales for the San Juan, P.R.-based TV station and WAPA's pay television network distributed in the continental U.S. Valls spent 25 years at Univision, departing in August 2012 as one of three senior VPs of network sales. He was most recently a senior advisor at Vaudeville Ventures, providing sales, partnership, and branded content strategy to companies seeking to enter the U.S. Hispanic market.

Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy) has teamed with writer Mark Hentemann in the creation of a new animated series set in a Southwest town along the U.S.-Mexican border — Bordertown — that Fox has picked up for its 2014-015 primetime slate. The show takes a satirical look at the lives of fictional Mexican-American Ernesto Gonzales, an industrious father of four, and neighbor Bud Buckwald, a Border Patrol agent. No time slot has been set.

• Puerto Rican journalist Normando Valentin has taken the helm of a special four-part investigative series airing on WAPA América, Ahi Esta La Verdad con Normando Valentin. The show examines issues affecting Puerto Rican society, including crime, corruption, and health. The first installment aired Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. ET. The second episode of the monthly show is set for Dec. 8. Sources at WAPA indicate that the show could be picked up for a full run, depending on audience reaction. Valentin is a reporter for WAPA-TV in San Juan and hosts a talk show on Univision Radio's WKAQ-AM 580 in San Juan.

Roshana Gossoff is now an account executive for Miami-based Hispanic PR firm Balsera Communications, working with educational Spanish-language television network Vme. The recent Florida International University graduate's resume includes public relations stints at C-Com Group and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.
