The use of ultrasonic vibrations is a new technique for delivering tactile sensations to the user. In involves a series of ultrasonic transducers that emit very high frequency sound waves and when all of the waves meet at the same location at the same time, they create sensations on a human's skin. | #3 | Nvidia G-Sync matches LCD refresh rate to GPU render rate | | by Geoff Gasior | | Nvidia revealed a new technology that could revolutionize PC monitors. Dubbed G-Sync, the tech allows the display to synchronize directly with the GPU. It supplants the scaler of traditional LCDs, allowing the normally fixed refresh rate to be replaced by a variable one linked to the rendering pipeline. Each time the GPU is finished rendering a frame, G-Sync puts it on the screen immediately. More» Why This Matters: This is potentially a very big deal for many display applications. Nvidia is already working with Asus, BenQ, Philips, and ViewSonic.
