#1 Apple preparing 65-inch UHD TV for release next year, analyst says

Why This Matters: This seems like more than a rumor, with a bezel-free design and reference to the possible role for LG, Samsung, and Corning's Gorilla Glass, and given Tim Cook's remarks this spring about Apple TV. One flag: the price of around $1,500-$2,500. That part doesn't sound very Apple. -Cynthia Wisehart

#2 Netflix flirts with a new idea: "Big" movies at your house the same day they're in theaters

  Netflix made a splash this year by creating its own TV shows and delivering them over the Web. It's toying with the same idea for movies. Now Netflix is floating the idea that it will foot the bill for a "big" movie, which would appear in theaters and on Netflix at the same time. More»
Why This Matters: It might not come to fruition but after what we've seen from Netflix's high-quality original series, House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, we shouldn't count them out when it comes to first-run theatrical releases and unique distribution models. -Jeremy Glowacki
