2wcom Shows FlexDSR02+ and FlexDSR04+ Satellite Receivers

2wcom's new FlexDSR02+ and FlexDSR04+ digital satellite receivers offer an exceptionally comprehensive feature set, with support for all major audio formats, automatic program switching, full regionalization capabilities, SIRC remote control through satellite, fail-safe dedicated hardware, and many more functions that allow broadcasters greater operational flexibility and cost savings.

FlexDSR02+/04+ accepts input from satellite (DVB-S/S2), Internet (IP) and synchronous transmission lines (STL with ASI). SD card-based internal memory capacity facilitates additional backup solutions and transmission scenarios. Automatic weightbalancing of quality parameters and failover switching to alternative input sources (satellite, IP-line, ASI, SD card) is complemented by seamless audio fading between sources.

2wcom's SIRC (Satellite Inband Remote Control) provides remote control and management of the entire network of IRDs via satellite, making it easy for radio stations integrate profitable regionalized commercials.

Supporting up to four audio inputs, the 19-inch 1U rack units are based on fanless, disk-free hardware, making FlexDSR02+/04+ inherently more reliable than PC-based systems, with a remarkably short boot-up time of five seconds.

Axia: From Studio to News Van, a Mixer That Fits

Axia Audio is displaying the industry's most complete line of networked mixing consoles at IBC2013.

For large, main studios there's Element. With nine frame sizes hosting four to 40 faders, four stereo mixing buses, automatic clean feeds for every fader, Omnia voice dynamics, and up to 99 Show Profile console snapshots, Element helps operators command complicated programs with ease.

For medium-sized studios that demand flexibility and power, there's iQ, from eight to 24 faders. Like Element, there are four stereo mixing buses, automatic clean feeds, Omnia processing, and an optional, matched six-line Telos phone system.

Smaller studios don't have to sacrifice power: Radius consoles pack the features of iQ into an eight-fader frame. Like all Axia consoles, Radius can operate standalone, or as part of an Axia network. And rounding out the family are DESQ, a small, powerful desktop mixer for personal studios or production facilities, and RAQ, a rackmount mixer for OB vans, TOC racks and other locations where space is at a premium.

Telos ProStream Packs More Power Into Web Streaming

Telos ProStream, the PC-free Web-streaming appliance, frees three essential Netcasting tools from the PC domain: genuine MPEG and AAC audio encoding, multi-band audio pre-processing and delivery to stream replication services, all housed in a fanless 1RU device with friendly interface and Web-based remote UI.

ProStream uses wideband AGC, three-band combined compressor/limiter, high-frequency equalization and Look-Ahead Omnia limiter to pre-condition audio. MPEG encoding algorithms from FhG ensure the most artifact-free sound quality at any bit-rate from 14 to 320 kbps. ProStream feeds audio to any Shoutcast-compatible media server, ICECast server or Wowza or Adobe Flash Media server for replication and delivery to users. It can also send streams directly to the popular Live365 service.

ProStream 2.1 software adds even more capabilities. It can send audio to LUCI Studio, and output processed, encoded streams to an Axia Livewire™ network, allowing PC-free intake, processing and distribution from reporters and content creators. Also supported: dual encoders, allowing users to process and encode two streams simultaneously for convenience and flexibility.
