#1 New iPhone: Leaked Pictures Reinforce Rumors Of Fingerprint Sensor
  Apple is widely expected to launch a new iPhone during an event at its Cupertino, California headquarters tomorrow. One of the more controversial features expected in the iPhone 5S is a fingerprint sensor, which could be used for unlocking the homescreen or confirming identity for payment from the App Store or other outlets. (Telegraph)
Why This Is Important: Although the iPhone wouldn't be the first smartphone with fingerprint sensing, it will have the largest consumer base to test such a feature.

  A CableCARD-based retail video device from Samsung that's expected to hit the market in time for the 2013 holidays took a big step toward that goal on Friday (Sept. 6), when the FCC granted a waiver that will allow Samsung to sell the device without an analog tuner. (Multichannel)
Why This Is Important: The debut of the product will mark a rare, new entry of a  product with a CableCARD slot that is tailored for the retail market.

#3 BSkyB Claims First 4K TV Satellite Broadcast
  U.K. pay television provider BSkyB successfully demonstrated what it claims was the world's first satellite broadcast done in 4K resolution -- a British soccer match. (TVTechnology)
Why This Is Important: Sky Sports managing director Barney Francis said the demonstration proved there is interest in Ultra HD sporting events and may pave the way for future projects and services.
