Why This Matters: Apple is tweaking its iTunes user agreements, to get more traction for iPads in schools. Google announced a new education initiative, Google Play for Education, at its I/O conference this year, to help get more Android tablets used in schools. In the AV world, we often talk about flat panels vs video projectors for the classroom, but that could quickly become a moot point if the big APP purveyors shift the momentum to the more APP-friendly tablets and smartphones in teachers' and students' hands.–David Keene
