| Today's Top Stories | | #1 | Vidyo selected by CERN to connect 20,000 scientists for global collaboration on physics research | | | by Paul Milligan, AV Interactive | | | Vidyo video conferencing was selected by CERN to support global, real-time collaborative video conferencing among a community of 20,000 scientists from over 600 institutes collaborating with the European Organisation for Nuclear Research. More» Why This Matters: If it happens at CERN, it matters. Having said that, I've personally witnessed their struggle to come up with a videoconferencing solution. About a year ago I saw one attempt—developed inside the physics community--which had super cool features and functionality but really poor image and latency (and proved that just because you're an astrophysicist doesn't mean you know how to deal with video).
