Lowell Manufacturing Company has introduced new UL Listed "LE" versions of the ES Series in-ceiling speakers. The LE designation—"less enclosure"—indicates that the speaker and its rough-in enclosure components are delivered as separate items. This allows AV specialists to install the enclosure/bridge assembly during the rough-in stage of new construction, allowing for accurate speaker pre-wire and placement.   More »
INSIGHT OF THE DAY
The California Health Care Facility near Stockton, CA, is a 1.2-million-square-foot facility being constructed by the state's Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation that will provide intermediate medical and mental health care and housing for up to 1,722 patient-inmates. On schedule for completion in July 2013 with full occupation and operation by year's end, CHCF-Stockton is a $900 million project that state officials estimate could potentially generate more than $300 million in payroll annually and add in excess of $1 billion to the region's economy, a boost that is much needed in an area that has been hit especially hard by the recession.   More »

The Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) has migrated the first 100, of a total of 150, of its displays to the Omnivex Moxie software solution. Working with the Omnivex local Value Added Reseller, 3D catacomb, the Halifax International Airport Authority will continue to replace their existing display management system, consisting of the remaining 50 displays, over the next two months.   More »

Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Instructional Media, the SF Media Services Manager is responsible for the management and organization of the San Francisco Media Center, the basic operation and stability of the audiovisual equipment in all facilities of the SF CCA Campus, and the coordination of technical services and lecture capture services for events in Timken Lecture Hall. He/she supervises all San Francisco-based media center staff and student workers. Assists Film Studio Manager with circulation of all film equipment in the combined Media/Film checkout center.
