Mad Max: Fury Road swept the sound categories at the 88th Academy Awards on its way to winning more gold statuessixthan any other nominated film this year. The win for sound editing was the first for both Mark Mangini and David White. This was White's first nomination; Mangini has been nominated three times previously, for The Fifth Element (1997), Aladdin (1992) and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986).
