Ladysmith Black Mambazo, 'Always With Us' Grammy Award–winning South African a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo recently released Always With Us, a tribute honoring the music of Nellie Shabalala, the late wife of Black Mambazo's founder and leader, Joseph Shabalala. Nellie passed away in 2002 and was considered the group's matriarch. Always With Us, comprising 10 tracks, is built around a collection of songs that Nellie recorded with her own singing group from the township church that she and her husband founded. The members of Black Mambazo added their vocals to the original recordings over several sessions that took place in 2011 and 2012 at KZM Music House in Durban, South Africa, and while touring in the U.S., visiting Club Shmed Studios in Missoula, Mont., and East Hall Recording in Fayetteville, Ark. Benefit Concert for Women's Audio Mission San Francisco singer/songwriter Lia Rose will perform an online concert on May 8, 2014, at 7 p.m. Pacific Time to benefit Women's Audio Mission, a San Francisco based, non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of women in music production and the recording arts. WAM is raising money to offer more free training classes to an additional 150 to 200 girls and young women the organization hasn't been able to serve this year. WAM will stream the event from its studios via Giving Stage, an online concert platform benefiting charities and causes. Tickets to the show are $10 and donations of any amount can be made at any time. Guitar Center Sessions Season 8 Is Underway On DIRECTV New episodes of the award-winning music television series Guitar Center Sessions, presented by Harman's JBL Pro, began airing Sunday, May 4, featuring Seattle band Soundgarden.
