For reference in creating villain Electro's internal storm, the "Amazing Spider-Man 2" filmmakers turned to nature, grabbing inspiration from neurological networks, deep space nebulas, and, of course, lightning. On set, Jamie Foxx wore elaborate make-up that served a dual purpose: it worked as a base for the final look of the film, and provided tracking markers for postproduction.
