T Bone Burnett's talents as a music producer are many, but Rhiannon Giddens of Carolina Chocolate Drops sums things up in a way when she says, "He has such good instincts." It's a rare song that makes you want to start a revolution, and one of the most heart-breaking, powerful and intensely inspiring of the lot is Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's response to the Kent State killings: "Ohio." In an era before the Internet or 24-hour news, "Ohio" was about as swift a reaction to current events as artists could make. After seeing photos of the tragedy (which took place May 4, 1970) in Life magazine, Neil Young wrote the lyrics and brought them to his bandmates, who were then in tour rehearsals. Multimedia entrepreneur Dave Stewart has been named by the Music Producers Guild as the 2015 recipient of its Outstanding Contribution to UK Music Award, sponsored by PPL. The award will be presented to Dave Stewart at the MPG 2015 Awards, which take place on February 12, 2015 at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London.

Automated Processes Inc. reports that West London's KORE Studios installed an API 1608 console this summer. The facility opened in 2003. Artists who have visited KORE include Florence and the Machine, Joss Stone, and Amy Winehouse. In 2010, the Music Producers Guild acknowledged KORE as Best UK Studio.
